Manchester Univ to hold Iran arts forum

University of Manchester in England has scheduled to hold conference discussing modern Iranian art in the shadow of the classical Persian past.

The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester has sent an open invitation to researchers in Iranian studies to submit papers for the two-day conference to be held in May.

The UK conference will be divided into two fields: one focusing on pre-modern, medieval and ancient times; while the other, around modern and contemporary era.

The problem arises in the fact that there is often little communication or appreciation between these two fields and scholars are thereby expected to address this phenomenon.

The conference seeks to bring together scholars from both the historical and contemporary fields.

The academic work on Iranian art and architecture is sponsored by the British Institute of Persian Studies, and will be held from May 17-18, 2018.
